Ridiculous gym time

Gym class at my school is often anything but physical activity.

The gym teacher for 5th grade this week - for the once-a-week gym class - made the students write a legal document promising to behave. While crouched on the floor, writing on the hardwood. This left only 10 minutes out of the hour for exercise. The gym teacher then introduced a game of line tag with a rule: no running! Only walking!

Last we checked, minors can't be party to a legal document. And this state has one of the highest obesity rates in the US.

Nerf wars

I just got new nerf gun with a laser sight - it is so awesome! It comes with 3 bullets. You can adjust the sight so that if you are bad at shooting, you can make yourself good.

Mom asked if having nerf guns to play with makes me more violent. I don't think it does. In fact, when we're shooting each other with nerf guns we're not hitting each other.
